چکیده

Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) cryogel is a biocompatible, synthetic hydrogel, compatible with magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. It widely used as biomaterial in tissue scaffolds and mimics to test various diagnostic techniques. The aim of this study characterise the effect varying PVA concentration, molecular weight (MW) manufacturing protocol on viscoelastic mechanical properties MR T2 relaxation time. Further imaging (MRI) was investigated method quantify material homogeneity. Cylindrical samples PVA, MW, concentration number freeze thaw cycles (FTCs), were manufactured. Dynamic analysis performed evaluate storage loss moduli between frequencies 0.5 10 Hz. maps imaged using 7 T MRI instrument. Storage shown increase or FTCs; modulus ranging from 55 kPa 912 6 103 kPa. time linearly concentration. qualitative quantitative heterogeneity sample identified through maps. Excitingly, demonstrated composition-dependent casual correlation In conclusion, research thoroughly characterised support its extensive use biomaterial, non-invasively identify predict PVA.

on the comparison of keyword and semantic-context methods of learning new vocabulary meaning

the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...

Anammox sludge immobilized in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) cryogel carriers.

This study evaluated the use of PVA cryogels to encapsulate slow-growing anammox bacteria for deammonification treatment of wastewater. The cryogel pellets were prepared by freezing-thawing at -8 °C. On average, pellets contained 11.8 mg-TSS/g-pellet of enriched anammox sludge NRRL B-50286 (Candidatus Brocadia caroliniensis) in 4-mm cubes. They were tested with synthetic and partially nitrified...

Cardiac and Hepatic T2*-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Abstract Background Iron overload is the main transfusion related side effects in patients with transfusion dependent hemoglobinopathies. Severe iron deposition in tissues leads to organ dysfunction. Many organs can be affected such as heart, liver, and endocrine organs. Cardiac failure and liver fibrosis are the consequent of Iron overload in transfusion dependent hemoglobinopathy. Magne...
